Nordic Walking UK instructors introduced 15,000 Britons in 2006 (up from 3,000 in 2005) to Nordic walking using high quality Exel poles. We estimate that 50,000 – 100,000 people will come to enjoy Nordic walking in 2007 through Nordic Walking UK.

Nordic Walking UK is, by far, the leading authority on Nordic walking in this country. Nordic Walking UK is the only organisation training instructors on a national scale and is the UK’s licensed provider of training to the standards of the International Nordic Walking Association (INWA). With over 230 instructors trained since 2004 (including doctors, physiotherapists, fitness instructors and community walk leaders), and another 200 expected in 2007, the UK public looks toward Nordic Walking UK, and this website, to find expert advice on every aspect of Nordic walking, from local classes to where to buy poles. Since 2005, Nordic Walking UK has appeared in almost every broadsheet and tabloid newspaper, over 20 fitness, lifestyle and outdoor magazines, and has been on BBC1, ITV1 and Channel 4 as well as numerous local TV and radio stations. Nordic Walking UK will continue to generate both local and national media coverage throughout 2007. Nordic Walking UK will further support its retailers by providing appropriate POS material and product training.

It is the aim of Nordic Walking UK to create and develop Nordic walking through the UK and Ireland, enabling the public to obtain the health, fitness and social benefits of Nordic walking participation, and we invite you to be a part of that.
